I have just recently heard of the death of Shane. Sending heartfelt condolences to all the Gough family at this time. I have many great memories of Shane while studying engineering in RTC Tallaght. He was always great fun and so easy going. I was very sad to hear of his death. Rest in peace Shane. Sharon Breen.

When I worked with him at the Department of Education, it was Shane who would show newcomers around the office. Knowledgeable, patient and always in good humour, Shane was the ideal man for the job: by the end of their first day, everybody felt like they'd made at least one friend.

Extremely sad to hear the passing of Shane. Always a character and full of life. Had many, many a crazy time out during our college years and after. Always made us laugh, and gave us a night to remember. He will be truly missed. My sincere Condolences to all during these hard times.

Words can't describe the shock of hearing that Shane has so sadly and suddenly passed. I wish to send my condolences to Shane's loving Mam and Dad and family. I worked with Shane for six months a couple years ago. Shane was always so helpful and supportive to me when I joined. We did our Evac chair training together, while having a giggle while we went through the training to lighten the what ifs related to the training topic. Shane also volunteered as a Fire Warden he was always happy to help in any way he could. Rest In Peace Shane! We will miss you always! xxx
