He was a mature student at the time and a great mentor/friend to me as we began our four year journey studying applied music in Dkit. He was great musician and a great friend. He will be missed greatly by myself and many more that had the pleasure to know and be in Shane’s presence.

I was Shane's lecturer in DkIT, where he was so well liked by both staff and students, he was a pleasure to be around and always so thoughtful and generous. In recent years, we bumped into each other in Dublin, and as always he was his usual smiley, fun self; I'm really glad I got to chat with him then and have a few laughs. Lovely memories of a great person and musician. You are all in my thoughts at this sad time.
