It was with great sorrow that I have just heard of the passing of your beloved Shane.

I remember him so well from his days in Belgrove with Conor and afterwards meeting him in the area with his ready smile and chat. His gentleness and kindness always so evident.

Thinking of you Bernie and all the family, at this very difficult time. May Shane’s gentle spirit always shine for you all.

I'm very sorry to hear about Shane's passing. I have good memories of many birthday parties with him when we were younger and his love of Transformers. A very kind and gentle person with an infectious laugh. May he rest in peace.

Such sad news to hear today.

I have many fond memories as a child at the O'Connell's home: digging in the garden, meeting their family dog; Tory or playing with the many Transformers in the house.

Although, it was Rory I was friends with, Shane made a strong impression in my life. I remember him doing drawings at the kitchen table. I was very young but could tell he had a natural talent.

Over the years, we would bump into each other now and again at the local shop or on our street. Shane was always warm and kind to chat to.

Shane was a lovely person and a talented artist.

He will be dearly missed.
