I met Shane on the flight to Gran Canaria, we sat beside each other for over four hours. We started to chat straight away and continued throughout the flight. He was extremely friendly and outgoing and was clearly looking forward to meeting his friends at the airport and to spending some time with them. I was totally shocked when I learned of Shane’s tragic accident, he was far too young to leave this life.

Thinking of you all. The news has just come to is in the South East Province, Scouting Ireland. We are all deeply shocked at Shane's untimely passing. May he rest in peace. His food was enjoyed by many new Adults joining Scouting in the South East Province.

6 jan 2023. Only today did i hear of this very sad news. Shane was such a lovely man, full of energy and generous of spirit. He always spoke highly of the scouts and went out of his way to provide catering for our many training courses. He will be missed by many for his good humour and kindness. A huge loss. Sending heartfelt condolences. May he rest in peace 🙏

Shane was always bubbly and positive and an example of how to enjoy your job. Will miss seeing him and his fab food and the grin on his face when you bite in.
