We are so very sorry that we were unable to attend Shane’s funeral. We have had three deaths in our family since July & had to travel to England for a few days to attend the funeral of our most recent sad loss.

It was with great shock & sadness that we learned of Shane’s sudden & unexpected death; there are no words to express our heartfelt sympathy. Our deepest condolences to Mike, Michelle, Adam, & Dylan, & all the extended Staunton & Burke families on the tragic & untimely passing of your beloved Shane. We cannot begin to imagine the heart-breaking pain & loss you are experiencing.

Shane was a wonderful young man, with such a friendly nature & welcoming smile. He will be lovingly remembered & greatly missed by everyone in Tynagh.

He was such a young gentleman and always full of life. I will miss all of the GAA talk, 25 card games and the slagging we had about the hurling.

He was a wonderful young man who brought a smile to the face of everyone he encountered with his good humour and positive outlook. The fact that he was stone mad about hurling was always a great conversation starter, and it wasn't long before the banter started to flow.
Shane contributed enormously to our school community and our sense of school spirit while he was here, and for that we will never forget him.
