My condolences to Niamh and the entire family. Shannon was such a lovely colleague to work with. She always looked after me whenever I visited site in Frankfurt and was so detailed in her work. I pray for comfort for the Murphy family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Shannon, and thank you for all your support during my time at Mercury.

Although we rightly grieve for Shannon’s passing, her story should also be remembered.
A story of profound and unrelenting bravery that never waned in the face of so many set backs.
Shannon’s pure stubbornness, courage and resolve, to never concede, will live always as a source inspiration, that cannot be replicated in any fictional works, within us.
Her story is a one of determination and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds that put in perspective, our ordinary lives.
You’ve got 6 months, nope I’m having 4 years, you’ve got days, nope I’m having 2 weeks.
Resilience, super human determination to not comply, that was Shannon, no one was going to tell her when her time was up, it was on her terms, an inspiration to us all that resonates through her whole family.
She has left us with a deep sense of sadness but more importantly, an unbelievable legacy of just what sort of person she was. She has truly changed our perspective on life and left an indelible image on our hearts, of a young lady that just would not give in.
Her love for life, and her family, motivated her to become the strongest person I have ever known, she leaves us with the memory of someone so special, so rare and so beautiful that her life will always be with us and we are grateful to her that she never once gave up so that we may enjoy her life a little longer.

Our hearts break for you all. The world is now a little more darker without the light that Shannon brought to it. Her favourite cargo pants that she wanted to wear everywhere no matter what, paired with her infectious smile and individual style. When we close our eyes, she is 5, beaming that smile.
