Shay (James) O'TOOLE

Absolutely gutted to find out only today that Shay passed away .First met Shay in 1979 me as a young bus conductor, he was so helpful ,an infectious laugh ,a thoughtful listener ,full of craic. He was the first person I sought out at the rentmakers ball every year and always sat with him and Robbie , last year we shook hands and embraced and bid each other farewell till next year .

Keeping you all in my prayers and sending you so much love throughout this awful time. I had the absolute pleasure to call Shay not only my colleague but a friend throughout my time working in TV3. There was no better man to put a smile on my face yet alone share a laugh and a cuppa with. He brought so much joy to everyone he met and if life was bringing you down he knew exactly what to say to bring you back up again. I have so many memories that i will hold dear, from him giving me DIY tips & tricks when i was moving out of home to crying with laughter when we were planning to recreate a diet coke ad for one of the legendary TV3 Christmas videos. To Helen and Family, my deepest sympathy on your great loss of a GREAT MAN. Shay was not only a great man, he was one of life's Gentlemen and was always to the fore of many events I was involved in and I only had to say Shay, we're doing a fundraising show, his reply was, Where, When, and what time do you want me there. Shay was particular involved with a very famous Annual event, Our Lady's Hospital Crumlin 'Bed Push' and finishing the night with the Halloween Fancy Dress Party at the Cuckoo's Nest. Thank you Shay for all you did for us all and now having been my doorman for fundraising shows with your good friend and buddy Eamon Fox, who passed away recently. May you both Rest in Peace and together again as friends.

I worked with Shay for many years and I am deeply saddened to hear of his sudden passing. He always made so much time for me in work and we had so many great chats, banter and discussions over the years on everything from horse racing, soccer to a 32 county All Ireland.
