I was so sorry to only recently learn of Sheelagh’s passing. She was a very caring vet with a quest for knowledge and we enjoyed having her at the Kilkenny Clinical Society meetings.

So sorry to hear tonight 01/10/2025 at the Kilkenny Clinical Society of Sheelagh's passing . I can still see her coming into the Veterinary College in Ballsbridge and Ballycoolin field station on her Honda 50 . She was always in good humour . We meet up again years later at the Clinical Society meetings and at Class re-unions . She was always in good humour and a pleasure to be in her company , a real lady . Sincere sympathy to all her family . I will always remember her as Sheelagh Mawhinney on her red & white Honda 50 who was the intellectual in her class in TCD . Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dilis .

I loved every KC shift with Sheila and the conversations while both eating our every-year-garlic mushrooms & duck January-Christmas dinners. She was honest at the same time caring. I deeply admire her as a vet and as a person. We will miss her.

Prayers and thoughts with Sheelagh's family on her sad passing. She was always a delightful person at Veterinary Ireland events, and she will be sadly missed by all in our organisation.

I worked with Sheelagh while I was in Kildare Chilling now Dawn Meats Kildare, she was a lovely kind lady, and very diligent at her work, Deepest Sympathy to her Family and to all who mourn the passing of Sheelagh.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Sheelagh. She was very much loved by our family in Ballymoney. Myself and Ann's first dog together came through Sheelagh and she was such a blessing. My sincere condolences to you all at this very sad time.

We connected again over the years from time to time - it was always like only a week had passed. Sheelagh was kind, so diligent in her work and an incredibly determined woman. So sad to hear about the passing of Sheelagh. A great friend and work colleague in Kildare Chilling. Always very generous giving veterinary advice and helped me out many times with veterinary clinical cases, was always selfless with her time. She loved her dogs especially her beloved Rosie, who i used to say hello to daily in kildare Chilling. She will be missed.
