So sad to hear of Sheelagh’s passing. I could not have asked for a better godmother growing up.

As I go through my parent’s effects following Margaret’s passing just a week before Sheelagh, I keep finding little clues to their lifelong friendship with her, such as an entry in Paddy’s diary from Oct 1959 reminding him that Sheelagh would be on holiday in Spain or a handwritten list of people he wanted to invite on a trip to Tramore that year, with Sheelagh Conlon first name on his list.

The love and commitment to music that she and Liam shared with Paddy contributed to so many things, not least Enniscorthy Choral Society and the Wexford Festival Singers.

It is with great sadness that I heard of Sheelagh's death. Liam and she made a huge contribution to music in Co Wexford. They were founder members of Wexford Festival Singers and Silvertones and were staunch supporters of Co Wexford School of Music from its foundation in 1980. Sheelagh's generosity and sense of humour enlivened every gathering, as did her plants and horticultural advice brighten many gardens. May she rest in peace and may all who loved her find comfort in their many happy memories. Eileen Herlihy

Sheelagh was a woman years ahead of her time. She had an amazing vision, setting up a state- of-the-art garden centre at a time when nurseries were visited only in winter, in your wellies. Sheelagh made a garden and built a beautiful plant centre around the garden. Plants could be purchased 12 months of the year, containerised!
Many a Sunday we spent there picking up some beautiful potted plants.
It became a destination for all gardeners and aspiring gardeners were helped in their gardening journey by Sheelaghs gentle coaching.

I’m so sad to hear of Sheelagh’s passing.
What a fantastic woman. We were Tara Glen friends. She was just the very best company. Wonderful golfer and such great fun. Full of mischief. Coached us beginners in team events to get the killer instincts going. So many trips to Enniscorthy golf club. A bus load of us on tour. We loved her so much. May she rest in peace. Sorry to hear the sad news of Sheelaghs passing.I got plenty of tips about plants from her and many of the plants and shrubs I got from her nursery are in full bloom in Tara Glens flower beds.
