I have been thinking of Sheila and of all of you so much these past few days. May the Lord comfort and console you at this time of immense sadness and grief and may He help you in the months ahead to find some joy and solace in the wonderful memories you all have of Sheila. And indeed you have such memories because Sheila was truly a very special person, the kind that lit up a room in the appropriate way whether the occasion was happy or sad, serious or funny, fixable or not! Sheila was such a friendly, kind, considerate, thoughtful person and l feel honoured to have known her as a friend and with SVP. I always thought her grandchildren were so lucky to have Sheila as their Granny…what a special relationship she had with each and every one of them and she’d often tell me of fun times and excursions they would have had together in the previous week!

I can remember Sheila from our schooldays in Loeto College, Crumlin Road.

I have wonderful memories of my schooldays there, where Ann, Geraldine and Sheila all played great hockey for the school, and encouraged me to sign up.
