Mairead - I have only just learned of Sheila's death and am so sorry to hear this. I worked alongside Sheila in RCSI for many years and she was always so helpful. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending my condolences and love to you all. I have a very fond memory of meeting Shelia and Willie at Liam and Juliet’s wedding in 1992. I was only 7 years old, but I remember enjoying talking to them about my school project about the Giant’s Causeway and my career plans. They were so very kind and warm and let me entertain them for what seemed to be most of the day. My thoughts are with you all xxxxx love Livvy and family

My sincere condolences to all the Walsh family.

Words cannot express how much we are all going to miss Sheila and her passing has come as such a shock given the fact that she has always bounced back from her illnesses in the past with incredible bravado and resilience but sadly this time it was not too be.

In her own unique way she resided over the Walsh clan as the matriarch of the family, always ready to offer support and guidance to each of you whenever needed and she loved each and every one of you dearly.

Sheila has always been such a resounding example of youthfulness and this makes her passing all the more difficult to bear. She was happiest when in the company of her family and grandchildren and loved when she was the primary guest of honour in your homes when you were treating her like a queen. She was always so appreciative of the good company and the good cooking bestowed on her - apart from her own unique cooking contributions at Christmases of course! Her smile was warm and infectious and it was hard not to be drawn in by her kindness and warmth to all.

Sheila has been a ray of sunshine in all of our lives for such a long time. Now more than ever at this sorrowful time, we should take from her pragmatic approach to life and look to the future knowing she has left behind an incredible legacy of love, kindness and friendship to all who knew her.

May she rest in peace
