Sincere condolences to Eileen, Adrienne & Sean on the passing of Sheila. I have so many fond memories of Sheila from a very early age. Her infectious laugh and quick whit made for many a funny moment over the years, the banter the grown-ups had over a slice of lemon meringue pie could fill a book. I can still hear her calling “Mr Murphy”. But a trip to Sheila’s was alway the highlight, she would undoubtedly pull a box of Liga out from behind her couch, my eyes would light up!! And the excitement when her biscuit tin came out was unparalleled!! I remember Mr White slipping me a few coins one day to buy sweets, the excitement of going down the hill to the shop was such a treat, but I wasn’t to get lost. I once got to spend a whole week at Sheila’s, my school lunchbox was never so exciting!! And as the years passed my phone calls home from London would undoubtedly include “how’s Sheila”. And when I came home for a visit with my 5 week old it was straight up to Sheila’s to introduce her. And only recently I had to smile to myself when I used Sheila’s words of wisdom on that now 8 year old… Sheila once told me to cover my tummy from the cold or it’ll grow hairs to protect it from the chilly air - in only the way Sheila could. I can safely say I never wore a crop top again after that - let’s hope her words of wisdom work on the next generation too... RIP Sheila, you’ll be fondly remembered.

Adrienne / Eileen & Sean -our heartfelt sorrow to all of you on the passing of an old and valued friend to all of us in Belvedere. She was a constant in all our lives around Old Chapel lane when we were growing up and a valuable extra pair of eyes for our parents.She really never gave the game away but the fear always was there that it could happen -which was a sufficient impediment for most of the family.She had one of those great smiles and a terrific sense of humour combined with a caustic wit . She will be particularly missed RIP
