I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Simon’s passing. He was the best lecturer and inspired me in many ways. He supervised my masters thesis in 2002 and I loved bumping into him in Maynooth in the years that followed. He leaves a legacy in the many students he taught and inspired. My sincere condolences to his family.
