My thoughts and prayers are with Simon's family. I have such happy memories of working with him in Video World many years ago. Even then he was destined to be an accomplished director. He was an inspirational man and will be sadly missed.

May Simon rest in peace.

I'm far away and cannot attend the funeral. I'm sorry I'm not there to honour a warrior such as Simon. I have admired him for so long and also all of you , his family. You adjusted your lives to the changing circumstances with such dignity and love, I can only wish I could do the same. I wish you comfort in his legacy of love and creativity which I'm sure will blossom into the future.

I didn't know Simon but have been following his story since I read his book 'it's not yet dark.' What a gorgeous person. May he sleep in heavenly slumber. May god grant you all the strength to carry you through. x

My sincerest condolences at the passing of Simon who I fondly remember as a child in Cork as I was friends with Ruth. I have lovely memories of a visiting the Fitzmaurice family in Greystones. My heart is with you at this difficult and tragic time.
