So saddened to hear of Simons passing, such a lovely person, deepest sympathy to all his family. RIP Simon
I would like to echo my colleague Mark Edwards’ thoughts on the so saddening passing of Simon.
We have worked on the properties Carringtons managed for over 20 years, I always found Simon to be a dedicated, honest, extremely hard working man, who cared passionately about providing a service to the many residents across Carringtons’ portfolio. Indeed, uniquely amongst the property managers I have come across, Simon always knew who lived at a particular flat amongst many and the all details of each flat.
Simon will be greatly missed by all who know him, my condolences to Simon’s family and friends.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the O'Connor family. I was sadden to hear of Simon's sudden. My prayers are with you all in this difficult time.
Deepest sympathies to Margie ,Juliette & all the O’Connor & Purtill families on the sad passing of Simon . May he rest in peace ,
My condolences to all Simon's family and friends. I just watched that lovely church service - sorry that I could not be there, but I am a bit disabled. Simon was not only a brilliant managing agent - he worked with us since 1990 - but he also became a great friend of mine, especially when my husband was needy before he died (5 years ago but it feels like yesterday).
We have been in contact since he 'retired', him always helping with issues to do with our freehold company, bless!
The sad thing is that he was so excited that he was going to have more time to spend with family and friends. God must have a reason for this? Kind regards. Jen

I was greatly saddened to hear of Simon’s death. I first knew him when he was interviewed as prospective managing agent of Delaware Mansions by the committee who were buying the freehold many years ago. We were very lucky to find him as he was so good at his job and of course we also discovered that he was a kind and lovely man. It is so sad that he was not able to enjoy his retirement. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences and we hope that in a small way they help through these trying times. In this sorrowful time, we would like to extend to you our heartfelt condolences. May our Lord comfort you and your loved ones. I am deeply saddened by the loss of Mr Simon o'connor that you and your family have encountered.

Keeping you all in my prayers at this difficult time.
We are both stunned and saddened by the news of Simon’s sudden passing. We have known Simon, as our managing agent for Coleherne Mansions, since 1990. He was efficient, reliable and his positivity and endless good humour made it a pleasure to deal with him. He was genuinely interested in the welfare of the building and its residents.
Our condolences and deepest sympathy to his wife and children and wider family on their loss.

"Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there. It doesn’t matter what you do, he said, so as long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that’s like you after you take your hands away."
These are words written by Ray Bradbury in his novel Fahrenheit 451 and make a fitting tribute to Simon's contribution and his life at Carringtons. We will miss working with him.

We write to express our deep shock and profound sorrow at Simon’s sudden passing.
Simon has been the managing agent of Marlborough Gate House for over 20 years. A man of great probity, a source of sage advice to directors and tenants, a reliable friend through times good and bad. The consummate London property professional.
We wish to offer our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Simon’s family, friends and associates.
Simon’s wise counsel will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the family of Simon. My prayers are with you in these very difficult times.
In all our dealings with Simon over many years we found him to be unfailingly honest and helpful. Sincere condolences to all Simon's family and friends.
My very sincerest and deepest condolences to Simon's family and friends. I, like others, was taken aback and profoundly upset by Simon's sudden passing and just as he was preparing to fully retire and spend time with Amalia between here and Spain. I met Simon over thirty years ago when he started as the managing agent with Delaware Mansions and I was a director, and we worked together up to the day he retired from running the block. He was the heartbeat and guardian of Delaware Mansions, knowledgeable, professional, accessible, courteous, kind, soft spoken, an absolute gentleman.
We had a working relationship, but he spoke of Amalia and his children often, and indeed, we were chatting recently when he was in Ireland with his mum. He was clearly a devoted family man.
Simon, many many of us are very sad that you are no longer with us and we will miss you and not forget you. I did not know a person who did not like you. You had a rare gift. Your family will rightly be very proud of your life and be heartbroken.

The Board would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Simon’s family and his work colleagues, who will no doubt still be coming to terms with this terrible news. Simon was our Management Agent for decades, until recently, and served the residents, demands and duties with professionalism and positivity. He was a rare kind and we know how much he was looking forward to the next chapters in his life. Taken far too soon and thus will be missed. RIP Simon
As long time residents in Embankment Gardens we met Simon when he started managing our buildings and therefore, many many years ago. We were shocked and shaken by his untimely passing and cannot begin to imagine how you are coping.
Simon was unique in his profession. At all times honest in his dealings and assessments of situations, experienced, wise and supportive on all occasions. That is indeed rare in a managing agent. Whatever problem we had he was there to help us through it with patience, kindness and humour.
We will miss him hugely and it was a privilege to have known him. We felt blessed to have him working on our behalf and looking out for our best interests for so many years.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

Tribute to Simon O’Connor
As residents of Delaware Mansions for almost three decades, we were devastated to hear of Simon O’Connor’s sudden and untimely passing. Over the same period we got to know and trust Simon’s capable talents for seamlessly managing the mansions until he retired less than a year ago. We were therefore shocked and deeply upset to learn that he suddenly and cruelly lost his life so soon after his retirement. As managing agent for the mansions, Simon was conscientious, responsive and consistently professional in his duties. But above all, he was an exceptional and thoroughly decent human being, qualities reflected day in, day out in the way he managed the upkeep of the mansions. But above all at this time, our thoughts are with the family he leaves behind—Amalia, Daniel and Susanna. To be robbed so prematurely of such a lovely man, husband and father is cruel beyond measure, so please be sure our thoughts and sympathies are with you at this harrowing time. We are sure his values and decency will live on through you!

We are long-standing clients of Simon’s at 17-20 Embankment Gardens in Chelsea.
Since we came to Chelsea in 1995 and started our family we have known Simon. Both at Carringtons and subsequently he was the one we turned to when we needed help. And he never let us down.
We were so sorry to hear of his untimely death and send you our heartfelt condolences at this sad time.
In his life he helped others and did so with grace , infinite courtesy and wisdom. We will miss him greatly but our loss is but a small part compared to what his family will be feeling and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
