I'd like to express my deepest sympathies to the Morgan family during such a difficult time. Simon was a great friend to myself and many others.

I hope that you can take some comfort in knowing that for all the years he lived in California, he had touched the souls of hundreds of individuals, always with a smile, genuine wit and of course sharing something to do with football!

For some of us, his Wednesday night soccer match in the center of San Francisco, was a befitting gift from someone who was so passionate about people (their lives) and the game itself, he truly loved 'The City' for that reason.

Myself and 3 others have made it a point to continue his legacy through this wonderful gathering of like minded people. HIS match will be his legacy.. a living, brotherly, loving legacy. Thank you for giving us this gift Simon, I know you're looking down on us.

Simon was a kind soul that helped introduce me to the soccer community in San Francisco. I have many memories of playing with and being refereed by Simon. He always took time to talk with me when I was at the field and greatly enjoyed his presence when he was around. He left us too early but find solace knowing he is with Him.

Rest in peace Simon. You were a bright light and will be forever. I am so blessed I had the chance to meet and play the beautiful game of Futbol we both love together! Thank you for all that you have done and you will be missed. Love ya Simon, rest easy!

Fresh landed from Italy, I was desperately looking for playing soccer in San Francisco.

Then I met Simon through soccer Wednesday night games almost 6 years ago. It was exactly what I was looking for. Pure soccer, simple rules, sportsmanship, friends. Simon’s group inbounded all of those in one great group of people.

I am still playing and I am now one of the organizers, carrying his legacy. He brought together so many people and demonstrated that you can have an impact even with small gestures, like organizing a soccer game.

The news of his departure from this world is heartbreaking… but hundreds of pieces are carried over from each of the people he touched.

I hope he is play soccer somewhere now and reminding people to be at the game on time…

Simon was such a good friend. He founded a football community here in San Francisco that still plays weekly in his name. We'll miss him, but we will continue to carry on his legacy here in California. Much love to his family and friends in Ireland and the UK from this side.

My condolences to the Simon Morgan family. I was privileged to witness Simon working soccer games. I waved at him while I was at work on several occasions. Simon was always pleasant to me and was a good friend. Simon will be missed but not forgotten. God bless.

I did not know Simon very well, but he appeared to be a great contributor to people, a very gentle soul and a great quiz player.
He made me feel better when he was around.
