Simone brought so much heart and soul to Sunny Govan Radio, and her dedication to her show inspired everyone who had the pleasure of working with her. Simone, we will always remember the passion you shared and the laughter you brought into our lives.
My sincere condolences to Mick, Molly and her sisters Lynora and Tansy. As Mick’s brother I got to meet Simone a number of times but feel we never had enough time together. I remember a great day in Arbroath and Stonehaven visiting them on holiday and blethering all day with Simone, she had such an engaging personality and was great for Mick and Molly. It was also a pleasure to meet her sisters in Glasgow, even under such sad circumstances. Rest in peace
It was a privilege to have known Simone, even if it was only for a short time. I met Simone as I'm a friend of Mick ,Simone's partner. Simone was great company and always smiling. Great personality and just a lovely person. It was a pleasure getting to know you Simone. RIEP 🙏
I was on the UK Traitors TV show and met Simone through her partner Mike. I found Simone to be down to earth, full of ideas and full of enthusiasm. She struck me as a very supportive lady, whether with Mike & Molly or sharing all my social media posts. My last memory of us was walking through a park in Glasgow chatting with such ease. I am indeed thankful for having the opportunity to experience her positive energy. May her spirit fly high til we meet again. Love, Anthony.
I have many happy memories of the wonderful times spent with Simone. From school days to sessions in Dublin, travelling in Italy and seeing her dancing away at our wedding. A beautiful soul taken much too soon. My heartfelt condolences to her partner and family.
I got to know Simone through her relationship with my brother Michael. They were so good for one another. Simone was a lovely lady who excuded kindness, warmth and gentleness. She was good fun to be around and it was a pleasure for her to be part of our family.
We will miss her.
I offer my sincere sympathy to Lynne, Tansey and all the family.
I have been thinking a lot about the wonderful friendship we had growing up together in Milltown. We had such a lovely group of friends, all the girls and lads just hung around together and had some great fun and amazing long and carefree summers. Sisi was always such a funny and loving friend with a great smile and a lovely laugh. My sincere condolences to Tansy, Lynora and Mike and to all of Sisi’s family and friends. May Sisi rest in peace x
I was fortunate enough to spend the last two years with Simone in Glasgow. We knew within weeks of meeting that we would be together, its just sad we only got two years. But in that time I found her to have a big heart, a beautiful smile, and an incredibly sharp mind. Simone had her own community arts show on the local radio station SunnyG and that was where we met. She put her heart and soul into that show and she was a complete natural with a pure tone of voice, and a way of making guests feel welcome. When she passed (due to shoddy NHS care) the radio station organised a tribute for her last Friday which 40 people attended and a dozen of them came up to speak about the positive effect Si had on their lives. Simone also worked as a carer for a man who had severe mental health issues. During lockdown Si took him into her own home for 5 months. But that was Si - always championing the less fortunate without a thought for her own wellbeing. Simone, me and my daughter Molly (13) would go away a couple of times each year and Si loved nothing more than to go swimming in the sea with wee Molly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lyn and Tansy for coming over to Glasgow for the cremation and for doing so much to organise the whole thing. I hope tomorrow's event is full of nice stories and laughter about Si. She was a truly special person and she will be sadly missed on both sides of the Irish Sea. RIP Si, from Mike & The Mollster.
My deepest condolences to Simone's partner, family and close friends.
We worked together at IMMA and I recall the high quality of engagement that she brought to the mediation of our education and community programmes. I always enjoyed her positive energy and critical thinking skills when we discussed her experiences of engaging with school children. May you Rest in Peace Simone.
I have great memories of working with Simone at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. She contributed hugely to public engagement and education programmes during her time at IMMA in the '00s. I am so terribly sad to hear this news today. I am sorry I can't attend the Dublin memorial in person due to work commitments but my sincerest, deepest sympathies to all her loved ones, family and friends.
I am so sorry for your loss Lynn and Tansy - thinking of you both and sending lots of love and strength xx
