Siobhan Greene

To Gary and Fiachra, I am so very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and all of Siobhan’s family and friends whom she loved so much. Siobhan wasn’t just a manager, colleague or friend to me when we worked together. She was my mentor and helped shape the leader that I am today in the most positive and uplifting way. She helped me see my full potential and did that with everyone around her and she always focused on people’s strengths and didn’t dwell too much on things or ways that people couldn’t change. Siobhan loved her work and was so dedicated and professional but she also loved the craic! I absolutely adored working with Siobhan because a day didn’t go by without you having a giggle with her in between all of the serious stuff! I had an absolute ball working with Siobhan in Finglas, especially when we set up the FRC together. The memories I have of the time we spent together on this project I’ll cherish forever. Her laugh was hearty, her commitment knew no bounds and her heart was golden. I’ll miss your laugh Siobhan and your great humour along with your funny stories from childhood about growing up in Cavan. Rest easy Siobhan, your positive impact on people and great work in Barnardos lives on. What a legacy of warmth and kindness you have left behind for all who loved and cared for you. I hope it brings your family some comfort to know how respected and loved you were by all who had the honour of getting to know you and work with you. All my love, Dell Boy. Xxxx

Sincere sympathy to Gary, Fiachra and all of Siobhans family and friends. I worked with Siobhan for a spell in the Barnardos office Mulhuddart about 10 years ago. I remember how she would arrive in to the office with a lovely warm smile , and a positive, energetic attitude every day. Always wearing lovely bright colours, stopping for a quick friendly chat , and sharing a laugh. Such a beautiful lady who connected so well with everyone she met. I remember her smiling proudly and talking about little fiachra running in the garden x such a lovely person

On behalf of all the staff and Finglas West FRC Steering group we would like to offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of our much loved colleague and former Chairperson Siobhan.
Prior to her role as Barnardos Director of Services, Siobhan was the Assistant Director in the Dublin North region and was a driving force in the set up of Finglas West FRC. Her dedication, drive and commitment to improving the lives of children in Finglas West and across Ireland has left a lasting impact on so many families through her work within Barnardos. We feel so privileged to have had her support, commitment and passion here at the FRC, the project would not be what it is today without her. She really was the very best of Barnardos, bringing warmth, compassion and positive energy into her work every day.
Our deepest sympathies go to Siobhan’s husband Gary, her son Fiachra and to all the Greene and Darcy families at this difficult time. We will miss her incredibly here in the FRC. Rest in peace Siobhan.

My sincere condolences on the sad passing of Siobhan. We worked together on setting up the Family Welfare Conferencing Project more than 20 years ago. I was shocked to hear of her death. She was great fun and a really hard worker. My thoughts are with Gary, Fiachra and all of her family who will miss her so much. May she rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Gary, Fiachra, Joan and all Siobhan's family, colleagues and many friends. She was so proud of her partner and family, particularly Fiachra who brought her such great joy. Siobhan was such a happy, bright person. I had the pleasure of teaching her on the child protection diploma class in TCD. Her subsequent work as a tutor for at least twenty years made a really positive difference to the students that she encouraged and helped. She had a wonderful career and deserved all the promotions that she got - but my memory will always be her gorgeous hair, her really cool clothes, her hearty laugh, her boundless enthusiasm and her lovely friendly disposition. What a loss, she will be sadly missed.

My thoughts are with Gary, young Fiachra, Siobhan's mother and family, in addition to Siobhan herself. Her wonderful smile always brightened the day. May she rest in peace and may her influence continue to shape Fiachra into the man Siobhan would have wanted him to be.

I had the honour of getting to know Siobhan through her work in Finglas. As so many have said, she was so dedicated to making the lives of others better and to provide hope and new possibilities to children and their families. She also showed such care for her own family and spoke with such love and pride for her son. Sympathies to Gary and Fiachra and all her family, friends and colleagues.
