Sister Columba taught me and my sisters in Kilkee.She was a brilliant teacher.Our Leaving Cert class of 1961 celebrated 50 years organised by Thomasina Costello Coyne in 2011 and Sister Columba attended it.She was as nice and friendly then as always.Ar does De go raibh a hanam dilis.

To the Murphy family and to the Mercy Sisters our sincere sympathy on the death of Sister Columba. The Legion of Mary in Kilrush and West Clare have fond memories of Sister Columba as our Spiritual Director. May perpetual light shine on her.
As she would say herself of others who went before her, Aunt Maureen has 'gone to God'. She was like a family Facebook page, keeping track of all our comings and goings, and will be greatly missed. Just met Columba one week in Lourdes back in the 70s and she impressed me that time as a wonderful woman with a rich spirituality and feet on the ground common sense.

It is with great sorry but also great memories that I send my sincere sympathy to Sr.Columba’s family,she often spoke of them,also to the Community of the Sisters of Mercy,in Kilrush and Ennis.
I was a pupil of S.Columbas in Kilkee and she gave all of us great encouragement,was always interested in what we were doing,and we could have fun with her,always smiling.I kept in touch with her for the past 59years and visited whenever I could.

My sincere sympathy to Sr Columba's family and to her Sisters in Christ. I am very happy to have had a long and personal conversation with her at her Convent home in Ennis a few years ago. May the Angels come to meet her. Co. Offaly

So saddened to hear of Maureen passing. A great friend of our family and the last living link we had with the Convent in Kilrush. All the great times we had in Dublin which she visited for many years. The lovely memories will live on. Rest in peace dear Maureen.

She was such a wonderful example of right living and dedicated to her religious life and calling to the Mercy Order.
