So sad to hear of Sr Agnes’s passing. She was universally loved by students, staff and parents, all of whom are now united in their sense of loss but also in the joy of having known her. My private moments with her were on the side of the hockey pitch when she was out on her evening walks and I was lining the pitch. She always got great joy from the similarity of our Louth and Cavan accents. Sincere sympathies to her family and to the Loreto Communities. Rest In Peace Sr Agnes

She had a great sense of humour and always ready for a song. I have great memories of a night in the Loreto House in Swords when Sr Agnes entertained us with her humour and her singing. I am sure she is now singing with the Angels in Heaven. May she rest in the arms of the Lord at peace forever.

It was with great sadness that I heard of the death of dear Sr. Agnes. Her contribution to our Loreto community was immense through her baking, cooking, and bubbly personality. She produced much beautiful food for us over the years and provided a comforting space for students in the Tuck shop. My condolences to the Thompson family and the Loreto community at this sad time. Sr. Agnes was a wonderfully kind and caring person and that's what she will be remembered for most. Aside from that, her fabulous baking, meringue nests in particular, and her radio on in the tuckshop listening to the races are things I won't forget. Taking her to Fairy house races with my dad and introducing her to the late Lar Foley was another big highlight. My biggest regret now is not keeping in touch. May she rest in peace xxx

Our sympathy to the Thompson family. A tear came to my eye when I read of the passing of Sister Agnes this morning . Then I remembered our trip to the Fairyhouse Races in the late nineties where Sr. Agnes met her hero jockey Ruby Walsh and her smile came to my face. Farewell Sister Agnes you epitomized all things beautiful in humanity.

I had the great pleasure of working along side Sr Agnes in the tuck shop in Loreto Swords for a couple years, she was the kindest most gentle person I've ever met, everyone loved her, her baking was so delicious and filled every corridor in the school with the smell of fresh baked scones and cakes. Theres not many names that all the students loved and cherished but Sr. AGNES was definitely someone we all loved. Her amazing cooking would fill up Loreto Swords and make us all straving in class. On an odd occasion there would be left overs and Sr. Agnes would half a scones so a few people could have a sample. Lovely, warm and an amazing person who will always be part of my memories in schools . Thank you Sr. AGNES.

Her baking for staff , students, parents and Boards of Management , was legendary and made us the envy of all. Sr Agnes played a central role in the life of the school enriching everyone .
