We have just heard the sad news of Sr. Aideen’s passing. As a family, we all have very good memories of our school days with Sr. Aideen in the Marist School and remember her as a great teacher. In later years we enjoyed the occasional chat when we met her on her walks in Sundrive Park. Our deepest condolences to Sr Aideen’s family and the Marist Community. May she rest in peace
Condolences to Sr. Aideen’s family & friends & the lovely sisters of The Marist, she played a huge role in her pupils lives & I still speak about her fondly. Her dedication to teaching & music enriched so many lives. I was a pupil of Sr. Aideen’s 5th and 6th class & dreaded Friday afternoons spelling test but those hours spent learning those spellings were invaluable. Rest in Peace Sr. Aideen
I was a 5th & 6th class pupil of Sr. Aideen around 1970. I had the pleasure of having a lovely chat with her in 2022. We discussed in particular our mutual love of music. She introduced me to classical music and sight reading.  She was amused at the memory I have of  her sitting at the piano in the school hall playing the intro to "Barcarolle".

Sr. Leo,  who taught me the tin whistle had recently passed away and Sr. Aideen recalled how Sr. Leo was the only person she knew who could play the violin and dance at the same time. We both laughed at that. Sr. Aideen was a great teacher and I was lucky to have been one of her students . My condolences to her family and the Marist community on her passing. May Sr. Aideen rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy to the family of Sr Aideen and the Marist Sisters at this sad time. Rip Sr Aideen
Aunie Nuala, we will miss you. You were always so kind and thoughtful. It was always a pleasure to talk about art and your interest in Italian Art works. It was lovely to receive your kind letters and prayers at Christmas. You were so caring and loved to hear about the family news. You will be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers
I first met Aideen 53 years ago when i was assigned to Crumlin. She worked with me for the next 9 years. I have to say most emphatically that she was extremely supportive and helpful for those nine years. We never once had a falling out during that time and i certainly could not have asked for a more cooperative and helpful person. I regard my self as being very very blessed in having such a wonderful and great helper. She arranged many a class mass for her school children during that time. She also played the church organ for the 10-30 parish mass each Sunday.
When i left Crumlin and emigrated to Louisiana 42 years ago, I remained in touch with Aideen . Whenever I returned back to Ireland I always visited with her, whether in Crumlin or Bray or even Carrick on Shannon. Sometimes we would meet half way for coffee or lunch in Clerys or Easons. She would call my brother now and then to find out when i was returning.
I cannot say enough good things about her. She was indeed a great blessing to me and to the parishes where she was stationed. She is now playing the heavenly organ in paradise. The Lord blessed me in having her there in Crumlin. I dont have to say:may she rest in peace. She is undoubtedly at peace with the Lord.

Lovely memories of a lovely gentle Marist sister while she was Principal in the Primary School in Carrick on Shannon. I had lots of chats with her as she travelled round on her bicycle. Sr Aideen is now enjoying her reward for a life well lived in her Marist Community.
Leitrim Village.
I was very sad to hear of Sr Aideen's death. During my many years as chairman of the Boards of Management of the parish schools she gave wonderful service to both pupils and the Boards of Management, and to me she offered wisdom and advice.

I knew the O’Connors when I was in Secondary School in Elphin in the late 1950s and early sixties. I spent my life in Africa so I haven’t met any of them since that time. I have good memories of them and of those days. I offer my sympathy to the family and to the Marist Sisters. May Sr. Aideen rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Sr. Aideen's family and to her Marist Sister community.
I visited Sr. Aideen during this year in the Marist Convent (on Sundrive Road). We had a lovely chat.
She told me how much she loved her family and Yorkshire Terriers etc..
She was my 5th and 6th class teacher in the Marist Primary School. She was always FIRM but also SO FAIR and she was a BRILLIANT teacher. Thank you for all the spelling and table tests - they stand to me to this day.
I remember being SO scared of having to walk up to your piano in the hall to "audition" for your choir. My favourite Christmas song is Silent Night but I've NEVER heard ANY arrangement that surpasses your arrangement of our firsts, seconds and descants. RIP Sr. Aideen.
RIP Aunty Nuala, always remember her visits from our childhood and into adulthood. Always keen and interested in how we were doing and always full of wisdom, advice and support. Writing letters at Christmas was always a way of capping the year off and reflecting. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Thinking of our Auntie Nuala today as she’s laid to rest. Auntie Nuala was a chronicler of family lore and history, who always loved to hear how things were going and what we were all doing with our lives. Will miss writing to her with the latest updates and adventures, and will miss receiving her reply - always filled with wisdom and guidance - in the post. Family was very important to Auntie Nuala, and it is this example that I will seek to carry forward. Will remember her most for her gentle spirit and kindness.
I have very fond memories of Sr Aideen as she played so well for the choir at St Fergal's in Bray. No matter what I threw at her she would convert to tonic solfa and she was away!
My condolonces to her family and to the Marist Sister's Community
Our sympathies to the O'Conor family as you mourn the passing of Sr.Aideen.
May her soul Rest in Peace.
Sincere Sympathy to Annie, Kevin, Fr Kevin and Bene on Sr Aideen's death. May her gentle soul be now at Rest. I was privileged to have been taken to visit her at the Hospice late August. Yes, she was her own quiet self on that day as always, but was able to recall with clarity our first meeting at school in Carrick in 1947. ANNIE, IT WAS THEN that , You, I, and many others STARTED our journey together to Leaving Cert. I have good memories of those years and you, Annie, as bright as a button, with many others too, as we set out on the challenge of Honours Maths to Leaving Cert with Mother Juliana, rip. Yes, we had Physics and Chemistry thrown in too, to keep us on our toes..! ANNIE, I DO HOPE YOU ARE FAIRLY WELL: sure, this is not the easiest time of our lives but we know we are in Good HANDS. Until we all meet again, ADEUS.
Dear Auntie Nuala. Over this past weekend, Mum (Annie O’Conor) has been telling me stories about how you and she helped each other through challenging times as young girls and how you had a strong bond throughout life. My heartfelt thanks go out to all the wonderful people who have cared for you. God bless you Auntie, and may you rest in peace.

I offer my prayerful sympathy to Sr. Aideen's family and her Marist Community. Our pathways crossed when I worked in Ballywaltrim Parish where Sr. Aideen, along with Srs. Donal and Eileen were very involved in parish life and ministries. Aideen's attention to detail and organising were impeccable. She had a lovely kindness in her heart and participated prayerfully in all liturgical events. In recent years I've met her in St. Bernadette's Church whenever I visited to say mass. May she be embraced by the God she served so faithfully as a Marist Sister. May our Blessed Mother comfort her family and colleagues. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.
