Sr. Anne was my first teacher in junior infants in the convent national school in Birr. She gave me a wonderful start to my education. She was the kindest and gentlest of teachers and sixty years later, I still remember how lovely she was. My sympathies to the Hannon family and to her sisters in the Mercy community on the sad loss of a true lady. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal.
I offer my personal gratitude and that of my siblings Sr Pauline, Fr Tim, Larry, our sisters-in-law Rosarie and Ger and their families to the Sisters of Mercy in Birr and elsewhere for the outstanding care and accompaniment of Anne during her final illness. Every reasonable effort and more was made to make it easier for Anne to journey towards her Heavenly home. The Hannon family will never forget your great kindness.
