I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sr.Bernard.
May I offer my sincere condolences to the Sheehan family
and the Loreto Sisters. I have treasured memories of her
English and History classes in Loreto in the early sixties.
She was an amazing, inspirational, gentle and kind teacher
and mentor. I will remember her always with great affection.

May her gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Sincere sympathy to all Sr. Bernard's family and the Loreto Community on your loss. I have wonderful memories spanning many years of a great lady, her Castlelyons connection was all important. I have exceptional memories of a pilgrimage to Lourdes where I shared table with her and that year her brother Fr. Tim also travelled and circumstances dictated that he should lead the pilgrimage, Sr. Bernard was so proud, they are now happily reunited. May they all rest in peace.

A deep sadness has overcome me this morning as I think of Mother Bernard as we knew her.She was a unique teacher who encouraged and enabled so many entrusted to her care . Her History and English classes were never dull , always inspirational and very much politically - inspired . What an amazing English teacher she was with the ability to convey the beauty of literature to her young impressionable pupils.
We read a few pages of “One more river” every day in class. Paradoxically that Israeli-Palestine is as current today as it was back then. Hopefully Charlie and herself will sort it out from on high!
Was so honoured & thrilled to reacquaint with her on her last trip to Lourdes.
