So sad to hear of Sr Brids passing.
An absolute lady.
Have such lovely memories of her from first year to fourth year in her home economics class before she retired from CCS.
Can still hear her telling to scrape out the bowl during baking lessons when leaving have the mix behind.
And in my years as a chef have used the line as Sr Brid would say "would you ever scrape out the bowl half of the mix is left behind "
May your gentle soul Rest in Peace Dear Sister Brid.💗

My sincere condolences to Sr. Margaret and the Caulfied family, and to all of Sr Brid’s family in the Mercy sisters, on her passing.
Sr. Brid, was always extremely kind and loving at Clifden Community School. She spoilt me really. I got more time out of my other classes if she needed help baking, serving tea etc to visitor's or helping at events at the school (much to my delight).
She thought me how to crochet and I still enjoy crocheting. She had a great sense of humour and you would often see her fighting back a smile as we joked about the antics on Fr. Ted. I have to say she was my favourite teacher and I am greatful that I got to see her a few weeks ago and tell her how much she meant to me.
She was a Saint in my eyes, may she rest in peace. She will be in my prayers. 🙏 ❤️

I never knew Sr Bríd, but reading the condolences has really tugged at my heartstrings!! What a wonderful woman, who was truly working in the vineyard of the Lord -- showing such love and kindness to young students especially boarders in the tough regime of the 1960's & '70s. It is so uplifting to hear former students speak so highly, and lovingly of a former teacher! Sincere sympathy to all her family, and to her Community. May Sr Bríd get a special place in Heaven, and may she rest in eternal peace.

Deepest condolences to the Caulfield family and Mercy Sisters on the passing of Sr Bríd. A true lady. She went about her day in such a quiet manner but that couldn’t be said of her classroom. Always a hive of activity. Lunchtime craft lessons, upholstery, crochet, knitting in addition to her teaching. I was privileged to have worked with St Bríd and have her as a role model when I started teaching. Later she loved to hear where past pupils were and what they were doing. Always interested. Rest in peace and happiness Sr Brid.

Sr. Brid was an amazing teacher and a beautiful person. I have wonderful memories of her gathering us around her table to demonstrate a new stitch or an old recipe. The laughter, the divilment and the life long memories made in that room will be cherished forever. She was inspirational educator and left an indelible mark on those of us who were lucky enough to say she taught us in Clifden Community School. She never taught me, as I didnt do any of her subjects in St. Brigid's, Tuam, but I observed at first hand her kindness, understanding, patience and gentleness with all pupils, and especially with lonely and lost 1st year boarders in MCT in the harsh 1960s. My sincerest condolences to Sr Brid’s family and the sisters in Stella Maria on the passing of the much loved Sr Brid. I first got to know Sr Brid in Tuam when she would come over from the convent to help me with my students in preparation for their junior cycle crochet & knitting projects. Her kind and caring approach toward me and the students was to be admired. When she moved to Salthill I often visited where she gave me lessons on knitting and crochet and showed me her latest project -knitting the little chickens for the crème eggs to be sold for charity or the latest baby bonnet. I cherish the memories I have of time spent with her. She was a lady-kind caring, patient and positive. We always had a bit of laughter and a lovely chat. Rest in peace Sr Brid, you will be sadly missed.
My deepest sympathy to Sr Bríd’s immediate and extended family. An inspirational home economics teacher, who was always kind and caring. Doing so much for students behind the scenes. A real lady, with a great smile. May she rest in eternal peace.
