So sorry to hear of Sr Brigid's passing. A great teacher who had such a positive influence on education in Rathangan. So much of what is there today, is a fitting tribute to her. Sincere condolences to Sr Carmel, Sr Bernadette and Sr Rosario and all who mourn her. May she rest in peace.

On behalf of Baltinglass and District forum, I’d like express heartfelt condolences on the passing of Sr Brigid. She made a major contribution to the town while she lived here and was sorely missed when she retired.

We heard of the recent death of Sr Brigid with sadness. 34 years have passed since she and Sr Carmel arrived in Baltinglass to take up the role of Community Sisters,at an age when most people retire,they took on this role with enthusiasm and made such a difference to an community.Their legacy of care and positivity remain with us to this day. Her soul will rest in well earned peace.

I had the privilege of been a member of the church choir in Baltinglass under Sr. Brigid who brought great energy and good humour to the choir. Shortly after St Brigid arrived in Baltinglass she was introduced to the Lalor Centre by the late Fr Gary Doyle where she would become secretary of ‘The Lalor Centre Parents and Friends Committee’ for many many years. it was an honour to share this committee with her. Sr Carmel by her side! Her reports were always so accurate but never boring! Always a chance for a quick joke! And some good humour! She was just so warm prayerful and witty! And had a lovely presence in the centre. She was much loved by service users, staff and all involved In the running of the service. Sr Brigid was a friend to all! We really missed herself and Sr Carmel when they left town! Rest in peace now Sr Brigid.. and thanks for all the lovely memories…
