We hold many fond memories of her trips to Strand Road when she was on holiday at inchydoney. Likewise we were entertained for breakfast after mass on a Sunday when she was in residence. We had many happy times.

I was so saddened to hear of Sr.Claire's passing. Our journey began in Senior Infants many years ago. She was a kind, gentle lady who cared deeply for the childen, the epitome of what a teacher should be.
Such was her impact then, our journey continued on to secondary school where I had the pleasure of being involved in the Taize group meetings. Together with Sr.Claire, we organised these sessions so diligently. She developed our leadership skills while giving us a very special lifelong gift, the ability to sit with ourselves in silence. Little did we know how important that would become as the world sped up.
As the years passed and I continued my own personal journey into teaching and beyond, so too did we continue our friendship. We met many times every year, surfing the many beautiful spots of Cork. I always left Sr.Claire feeling on top of the world, like nothing was unachievable and grateful for having so many wonders in my life. Her kindness knew no bounds. She was an inspirational character and I will never forget her impact on my life. She taught me so much more than she was tasked to on our first encounter in the 1980s and I will be forever grateful for having her in my life.
