Loving sympathy to Sr Clare's community and family. I was greatly saddenend to hear of Clare's death. I met Clare in Alabama when we both taught in the neighboring schools of Pius X and Holy Family. Clare was a lovely person and a real joy to be with. We kept in touch on our return to Ireland. My sympathy to her good friend Joan Molumby. I will truly miss Clare. May she rest in peace. Rhoda

Sister Claire was one of the special ones that you just never forget. She instilled the love of music in me that I still have to this very day. She would push me and push me to sing and be my best even when I didn’t feel up to it or want to. I cannot remember how many special masses I was fortunate enough to lead the singing for because of her. She will be so missed, but never forgotten.
— David Wright
I was fortunate to attend St Pius X school where Sr Clare and other nuns taught. Clare instilled a love of music in me that is still with me today. She loved three part harmonies. She was a sweet person who always had a bright smile. She was also a dreamsketcher…waiting to draw an even better tomorrow ~ Rest in Peace !
— Tim Killion

My sincere condolences to the Stapleton family. Sr. Clare was my teacher as a young student and my friend as an adult. I first met her when she was a young woman living in a foreign country teaching American students about art and music. She had an bright infectious smile in her 20s and she had the same smile when I saw her last in Ireland in her 80s. May she rest in peace.
— Marc Barter, Mobile, Alabama
On behalf of the Clarke family in Mobile, Alabama, thank you Clare for the joy, happiness, and example you brought to our lives. I know you are up there holding the hand of the Lord just as warmly as you did when we had a chance to visit in person face to face just two months ago in Limerick at Catherine McAuley House. You are forever a special part of our hearts.
— Michael Clarke
As one of Sr. Clare's students at St. Pius I would like to say that she set the example we all followed. Her kindness to everyone, even fifty years later, are unforgettable.

Sending all best prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of Sr. Mary Clare, my earliest music teacher, and favorite school teacher altogether. So many fond memories: her surprise upon hearing me (a girl!) whistling in the classroom after school, her infinite patience, and her delight when presented with a guitar from our Girl Scout Troop at St. Pius X School, in Mobile, Alabama.
