Sincere sympathy to Fr. Declan's siblings, the extended Power family and her Presentation family on her sad passing. She had a gentle prayerful presence around the town for many years as she walked around it saying her office/prayers whilst enjoying nature and the great outdoors, stopping occassionally at plants/flowers enroute or to pick up some litter she spotted on the ground. She is reunited now with her family members and Presentation sisters gone before her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Very sad news sister Declan was was a true legend and lady had great memories of her rushing into our house when my son Conor was born saying she now knows 4 generations of the Kiley family and now we have a grandson so five while she was still alive she also made a family tree for us she loved Ardmore she will definitely get the best bed in heaven sleep with the angles sr Declan

I have many happy memories of our cousin Sr Declan: her visits to our then home in Ballintaylor Co. Waterford; her pride in her family and cultural heritage; my stay with her in Baltinglass on one occasion and above all a very special and inspiring Presentation Sister. My sincere sympathy to Sister Declan's family. She was my French teacher in Baltinglass Vocational School in the 1970s. She was a force of nature and a character. I met her once or twice in later years in the National Library when she had started her career in writing. Peace to her soul.

So sad to learn of Sr. Declan's passing. I remember her for her kind and loving nature, a truly great teacher. She taught me in Portlaoise.

I was in community with Declan in An Cheathrú Rua in the seventies. Declan was at her best at that stage. She was a woman of many, many talents. She researched the life of Nano Nagle and wrote a life of Nano in Gaeilge. She had a true love of the Irish language and did not spare herself in any task she took on. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís. Go raibh sí i measc na naomh anois.
