My sincere condolences to Dorothy’s family, her brothers and sisters, her nieces and nephews and her Dominican Community. I had the great fortune to be one of Dorothy’s students for three fantastic years in Holy Rosary National School in Wicklow Town in the 70’s. Dorothy was the most incredible teacher, she unlocked a whole new world for all of us. Dorothy and I reconnected over the last few years and enjoyed walks along the Salthill Prom on her trips to Galway. She will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Dorothy.
Condolences Tom and family.
Tom, Marie and family.
Thinking of you all at this sad time. May Sr Dorothy Rest in Peace.
As a young teacher in my first job, I had the good fortune to have Sr Dorothy as my ever helpful and inspiring colleague. I had inherited her class and still remember how she had taught those primary school children to sing and play their instruments, with real professionalism. She was a gifted teacher who brought happiness and joy to her pupils and fellow teachers.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a h Anam dílis.

Am absolutely devastated to hear of Dorothy’s death. We first met in Bolivia at language school in 1977 and that was the beginning of a long and laughing friendship. I visited her in Argentina and she visited me in Chile over the years. It is fitting that I heard the news of her death when I was visiting the Mercy sisters in Argentina on Friday. My love to all the family. A huge loss of a great friend. I knew she was not well but stunned by how quickly her illness must have progressed. Know that I have her in my heart.
