Very sorry to hear of this. Sincere sympathy to the O’Leary family and Sisters of Mercy, Kinsale. We have many great memories of Sr Eleanor through our aunt, Sr Kevin and uncle Fr Eddie. She was a great friend and trusted confidante to both and her capability in her profession and her forward thinking were evident to all. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Sr Eleanor. She was a great mentor and teacher in the Department of Psychology in UCC. She was a forward thinker and skilled practitioner. I know I was fortunate to have been her student in the counselling psychology masters program.. May she rest in peace.

Comhbhrón ó chroí to Eleanor's family and community, and appreciation for all she contributed in her life. Eleanor was an important leader in the development of Guidance and Counselling, and counselling in general in Ireland. I and many others benefitted from her teaching and research work in UCC, and from her encouragement and support. RIP.

I was a student of Eleanor's in UCC from 1990-1992. She introduced me to Counselling Psychology and her passion for humanistic psychology and therapy inspired me, and her teaching laid a wonderful foundation for my ongoing career. She was ahead of her time and made a huge contribution to the evolution of therapy in Ireland. My condolences to Eleanor's family, friends and community. May she rest in peace.
