Sincere condolences to Sister Ethel’s family. I had the privilege of meeting Sister Ethel in Port Elizabeth when she invited the Irish Rugby Team to visit during a tour to SA. We kept in touch. She was an exceptional person & will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Sister Ethel.

I have just watched the 2013 Nationwide programme about Sr Ethel. I didn't realise till the programme ended that, sadly, she had recently passed away. From the beginning of the programme I was struck by Sr Ethel's compassion and goodness. She really was a wonderful person. Clearly I wasn't alone in thinking this, as I was amazed and impressed to hear her being praised in the Queen's Christmas message some years ago.

May the good work that Sr Ethel did continue into the future. The world was very lucky to have her.

Sr Ethel is an inspiration to us all. She truly lived the Gospel through her life dedicated to the service of those most in need. May she rest now in the eternal peace of Christ.

I have watched last week's Nationwide on Sr. Ethel twice now. What an inspiration she is and a credit to Clare and Ireland. May we all be touched a little by her heart of gold.

I watched Nationwide on Wednesday 25th August, which was about Sr. Ethel Normoyle, whom did fantastic work for the poorest in the world. She gave great example to us all - about the true and sincere definition of how we in Ireland can be more happier in ourselves, by sharing, caring and lending a hand to those that we meet on our (short) journey of life.
Sr. Ethel's interviewer Colm Flynn must be in my opinion the happiest man - especially when he wrote a lovely story about "Finding Bannai".
May Sr. Ethel now rest in the arms of Jesus, knowing that she thought of everyone's future needs to the best of her ability.

I just watched nationwide which was about sr ethel.
What an amazing lady.
Definitely God working through her.
A saint if there was ever one.

I was so very sad to learn of the of death of Sr. .Ethel .We were in school together in Spanish . Sj
A number of girls and I attended her clothing ceremony at Milford House in March 1963 .
Even as a young woman Ethel possessed qualities of leadership ,fairness, compassion and generosity of spirit .We kept in touch sporadically over the years and I followed her wonderful work with the poor and marginalised of Missionvale regularly. Wonderful example of Faith in Action , she was undoubtably the face of Christ in a inequitable world.

I offer my deepest sympathy to her grieving family as they mourn her loss her Sisters in Community and her devoted family in Missionvale ..

Farewell dear Ethel ..your life’s work is done and rest in the peace of the Lord .

So sorry to learn that dear Sr. Ethel Normoyle passed away. What a wonderful lady she was. Knew her in Spanish Point in very early ‘60s. Her work in South Africa made such a difference to the poor whom she touched. May her gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
