We are so very sad to hear that Sr Gerard has passed away. I first met her in Coláiste na Croise Naofa in Falcarragh in 1970. We also met her when we visited Sr Alphonsus in Ballyshannon. She was so kind and generous to everyone and I will always remember her good humour. May she rest in peace.

I knew her all my life and would have had contact with her up until she took ill. She was always good humoured and had time to call or chat with people. Rest in Peace Sr Gerard. She was a living Saint. A wee lady who was very kind to myself and my late father during his many years delivering to the Convent and Shiel Hospital. Never in bad form, always with a smile and a friendly welcome. The epitome of how a person in religious life should be. Donegals Mother Teresa. We shall never see the likes of Sr Gerard again. Her acts of kindness and generosity too numerous to mention. Rest in Peace our old friend. 'Well done good and faithful servant '.
