Condolences to the family and friends of Sr Immaculata and to the Sisters of Mercy. Sr Mac was a very kind, caring lady and I enjoyed chatting with her anytime I visited the convent in Trim. May she rest in peace.

I knew Marie vicariously, through my Mom Helen (nee Bohan). They were childhood friends and continued that friendship throughout their lives. She was a thoughtful and giving person, and I always enjoyed the stories that emerged, of their childhood days in Kilbeggan. By all accounts, a life well and kindly lived, the beautiful accolades here attesting to this. May Sr. Immaculata's gentle soul rest now in eternal peace with her loved ones gone before her.

Sr Immaculata and our family go right back to 1964 when she taught my sister Maria for First Holy Communion. This was the start of a very strong and lasting friendship with our family . She had such a loving personal connection with each and every person living in Trim, and was always on hand to help out whenever needed. She enjoyed nothing more than to walk downtown and casually meet people for a chat . Her deep and genuine interest endeered her to everyone. My fondest memories have to be of Sr Mac as a teaching colleague who was a leading light in education and us teachers found her inspirational in every way. Ní bheidh a léithéid ann arís. I dont know where to start when I reflect on Sr Immaculata. Every day I use the tools she gave me to be a student, Adult Ed teacher and person. I was privileged to be her student for a precious, influential 2 years of primary school. I met her again some time back in Trim and was able to tell her of her importance. I'm not sure I thanked her. Because I am forever grateful. For her gentle ways of being firm, her fantastic sense of humour, her stories of her time in the States, her formula for calculating percentages(!), and her kindness. And much more. Go gentle to your resting place Immaculata. ♥️
