I got to know Sr. Josephine while visiting some of our sisters who came to Ireland after being in the British Province. I know she was a wonderful Provincial Treasurer for a number of years in Britain. When I got the role here in Ireland I got great advice as she said from one West Cork woman to another- I hail from Dunmanway. She was a woman of wisdom, very sincere.
No doubt she is gone straight to God and will be caring for you all from her home in Heaven.

My deepest sympathy to Donal and family on the sad passing of Sr. Josephine RIP. Sr. Josephine was so kind to my mam Eileen Tobin, to Michael, Seán & myself when we visited Southport during Auntie Sr. Madeline’s illness & for her funeral. Sr. Josephine also cycled from Reen to Rosscarbery on Sunday evenings when she was only 13 or 14 to spend the week with Mam’s family after their mother passed away and then cycled back home to Reen on a Friday evening. Sr. Josephine did not shy away from work. I pray that She will now reap her Heavenly reward for her life’s work dedicated to others in kind deeds and constant prayer. Leaba i measc na bhFíréan di.
