She was a great lady whom I got to know over the last years when visiting her in Tubbercurry and Carrick-on-Shannon. Enjoyed the chats and hearing her views on religion in Modern Ireland. It was with great sadness that we received the news about the demise of our cousin, Sr Kathleen. We are currently outside the country and will be unable to attend her funeral.

We have so many lovely memories of Sr Kathleen including the regular visits that she, Father Jim and Sean used to pay to us in Longford while we were living there. That contact with Sr Kathleen lasted up until as recently as Christmas 2024 when we received her usual Christmas card and letter. She was always interested in hearing how our children and grandchildren were progressing with their schooling and respective professions.

We send our deepest condolences to our cousin Breege, to the sisters in the Marist community and to all her relatives and friends.

So sad that my old friend, Sr. Nessan / Kathleen has passed. We went back a long way. We met in UCD in the 70’s and kept in touch ever since. We visited her last July. Sincere Condolences to her family, Mai, Ruth and Charles, and the Marist Sisters. Rest in peace Sr. Kathleen.

My first fond memories of Sr. Kathleen (Nessan) was as a student in Marist Convent, Carrick on Shannon in the early 60s.
