May your gentle soul rest in peace Sr.Laura. You made such a lasting impression on my young life, teaching me in both Junior Infants and Sixth Class in the Mercy. A kinder teacher, I couldn't have hoped to have, the best of educators not only in your ability to impart knowledge but also in doing your best to help me reach my full potential. You gifted me a rosary beads when I was leaving Primary School, that travelled the world with me which I always treasured, grounding me when I was many miles from home.
Condolences to all who love her and who will miss her.

Deepest Sympathies to Sr. Laura's sisters and to her Mercy Family in Waterford. I met her a number of brief times and dspite the brevity, Sr Laura left a lasting impression of kindness, friendliness and gentleness.

I only heard recently of Mother Peter's death. She taught me in Dunmore in the '60ies. She left a lasting impression on me, she was such a great teacher and a very kind person.

It was always a pleasure to meet Sr.Laura on our many visits to the Mercy Convent in Military Road when on a visit to my own sister and always felt so welcome there.

I had the privilege of being both her pupil, when I was in 4th Class and then her colleague, when I started teaching with her in Our Lady of Mercy SNS. We both taught 5th Class together the year I started teaching. I still have a copy of the history book she wrote about Waterford. A lovely lady. May Sr. Laura rest in peace. Thinking of you all.

Mother Peter, as she was when I knew her, was one of the most dedicated teachers I have known. She gave up her time during lunch break and after school to make sure pupils reached their full potential. She was kind, encouraging and gentle in an age when that was not always so. She taught me in sixth class in 1962 and left an impression that lasts to this day. Sincere sympathy to the Unwin family and her Mercy Sisters. May Laura rest in peace.
