We were so sorry to hear the passing of Sister Margaret Mary.
I remember Sr Margaret Mary from her time at The Lady of the Vale Nursing home in Bowdon. She was good friends with my Aunt; Sr Hilda and my Dad Thomas Smith.
We would visit the convent in the 1980's to see our aunt and she would always chat with Mum and Dad about our trips back to Ireland. She was very kind to us as children and would bring "the nice biscuits" when we would visit. She was a lovely warm person and both Mum and Dad spoke very highly of her.
In the summer of 1992 I worked at the nursing home for 6 weeks after leaving school and it was Sr Margaret Mary who taught me how to make the hospital beds up 'with hospital corners'.
She was patient and kind and there is no doubt that she will be missed by all that knew her.
