Mother Borgia and I had rocky relationship as I was going through a very difficult period of life in the early 1970s. I wish I'd understood her better, we were both seekers. Later we met on a train, we spoke about yoga which I was teaching in New York. She told me she was also teaching 'christian yoga' as far as I recall. I tried to reach out to her this week to thank her for having faith in me, sadly I didn't get to say that to her in person. I shall do so through the Great Spirit. My sympathy with the family. I am sorry to hear of the passing of 'Mother Borgia'- a true educator who encouraged young women to reach for the stars. May she rest in peace.

I was in school in Loreto Abbey Dalkey when Mother Borgia was Principal there during the late 60’s and early 70’s. She was always very fair, an excellent administrator and a terrific teacher. I re-established contact with her later in life through her love of art and I have a beautiful painting of hers that I will treasure all the more now.

Sr Borgia was a wonderful educator. I have very happy memories of being in her Latin and history of art class. A trip to Rome in '73 is something I will always remember - her knowledge and love of art was truely impressive. My sympathies to her family, friends and community. Rest in Peace.

Mother Borgia's enthusiasm for her subjects - Latin and History of Art - was absolutely contagious. She also always encouraged us girls to reach our potential and establish careers for ourselves. Very happy memories of my years in Dalkey. Condolences and may she rest in peace.

I attended Loreto Dalkey for only 2 years, arriving in 1972. I was on the Debating Team, and M. Borgia was our tutor. She was a highly intelligent & well read woman - a true educator. As I look back, I think of her as a fascinating character, summed up in no small way by her choice of religious name. My sincere sympathy to her family. Rest in Peace.

Sincere sympathyes to the Clancy family

I am so sad to hear the news about Sr Borgia. I worked in a printing company in Bishop Street and we used to print cards for her based on her wonderful photographs. She was a gifted painter too and gave me presents of some of het work. I had tea with her a few times in the convent on the Green. We kept in touch for a long time but I did not hear from her for a few years. Such a lovely person, it was an honour to have known her. May she rest in peace.
