I was honoured and privileged to have got to know Sr. Teresa when she was in the nursing home with my Mum in Clarinbridge. It was a joy to see her when we met, her smile that would light up the room and the many many stories of her time in Africa. She was a rare, tough when needed but also gentle, kind-hearted, pure soul that I was lucky to have met and befriended. I was so sorry to have heard about her passing. I know at least we now have an angel in heaven that we can pray to when we need to. She was someone who would have left you full of joy after meeting her. We will miss her bright lovely smile.
Sincere sympathy to the Keohane, Llnnane and extended families, and the Carmelite and Mercy sisters on your sad loss. May sister Mary Teresa rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to Sr. Mary Teresa.
We have fond memories of meeting her in Ballyseedy in her brother's house. We are glad to have known her.

Sincere Condolence to the Family and Community of Sister Teresa. A lovely lady with great faith. May Sister Teresa have Eternal Rest.
Sincere sympathy to the Keohane family on the death of sister Teresa. I had the privilege of treating her for many years. She was a pleasure to see and lit up my office whenever she visited me. She was a woman of great faith and character. She had a great sense of humour and took everything in her stride. She was a woman of great compassion and would do anything to help the sick. She never complained and loved to talk about her time in Africa. I last saw her a few weeks ago as she dropped by my office to enquire about my wife who was critically ill at the time. She was always full of encouragement and so full of life. May she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathies to Con, David & extended family on the passing of Sr Mary Teresa of Jesus, after a well fulfilled life on earth. May she now rest in heavenly peace.
My deepest sympathies to the family, friends and religious sisters or Sr. Teresa's. I was fortunate to spend some time with Sr. Teresa over the last few months and I have beautiful memories of her. She spoke so much of her cherished family, many friends and religious orders. She was so proud to be a Carmelite sister and treasured her time spent in Africa "living with the snakes and the lizards", as she would often tell. She was funny, kind and generous, may she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy and Prayers to Sr. Mary Teresa's family and community on your sad loss

My first encounter with Sr Theresa Keohane O.C.D began in knock Co Mayo many years ago in St Marys Accommodation and from there we became long life friends. Sr Theresa or otherwise know as Mamma T as she often referred to on many occasions when we sat down to have breakfast in St Mary's in Knock. Sr Theresa would write on a regular basis to my home in Foxford and send scapulars blessed. Her hand written letters were beautifully scripted, along with her hymn To our lady of Knock. She forwarded me a little on her life in West Cork i based ths ballad on a life well lived.
The Ballad of Sr Theresa Keohane
18th May 1939- 2023
A life of faith, in thirty nine
Baptised by Fr C O Brian
The church bells were, a call to pray
For that i would, now live each day
So blessed now, for in my soul
For faith and love, i set my goal
The seeds of glory, was planted there
With Christ thy King, i wound now share
My child hood roots, began at home
In Courceys parish, i called my own
My own dear parents, a life of prayer
To our blessed lady, was always there
Then came that very, sacred day
And of to church, i made my own
I saw my father, all smiling there
For everyvday, would come to pray
Our local church, in Ballinadee
It was a special place, for me
Where i received, with open arms
My lord who died, and bore his thorns
At nineteen years, i left my home
And to these sisters i called my own
I entered the order, in thirty eight
Where my own heart, would radiate
Then in the year, of eighty- eight
I took now this, great leap of faith
And to Confert, i made my way
In Solitude, would kneel and pray
The lord he called, on mission day
And to West Africa, i made my way
And with out foundress, we did begin
The open sands, of the desert zing
Our mission there, is now full-filled
We taught all natives, who were un-skilled
Build houses, schools, and churches there
I spent twelve years in daily prayer
I came now home, to sweet loughrea
Contented now, for every day
I thank the lord, above will keep
For we have scattered, just like sheep

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Teresa. Deepest condolences to her relatives, Carmelite sisters, and friends. We are blessed to have gotten to know Sr. Teresa in recent years and it was such a privilege to visit her while she was in Loughrea. It was there that we had the pleasure of listening to her beautiful songs, compositions and life story. A very pure, gentle, kind-hearted woman who always kept everyone in constant thoughts and prayers through the intercession of her beloved saints. May God now reward her for all the work she carried out and may she be granted eternal peace and happiness with her beloved family in Christ, in Heaven. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam naofa uasal.

Sr Teresa was a constant presence in “her” corner in the reception area in Brampton doing her correspondence and chatting with all and sundry. She was kindness personified to our family as we were with Dad there during the few days before he died. We spent a wonderful time with her in Dads room the night before he passed away praying a novena with her and then listening to her wonderful life stories. She was such a calming presence and we will never forget her. Rest in peace Sr Teresa - you ministered well in this life, a warm reward awaits you now.
