Sincere sympathy to all of Sr. Mary’s family, also to her St. John of God community on her sad passing. I attended Christ The King Primary School in Tollington Park in the 70’s along with my sister & brothers Sean, Mary & Tim Kearney. Sr. Mary was the Principal at that time and was always very kind. Her leadership skills were second to none. We as a family have very fond memories of our time at the school. My father Tadhg, who passed away a number of years ago played music for the school dances in St. Mellitus Parish Hall and my mother Hannah still speaks very fondly about her time working there. We really missed the school when our family returned to Ireland in 1978. We will never forget Sr. Mary. May she rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí. Bríd

Sr Mary was my head teacher at Christ the King in Tollington park back in the late 60s, she was always fair and kind. Sr Mary will always be remembered, may she rest in peace.
It was with deep sadness last Wednesday I heard from Sr. Muredach of Sr.Marys death, having received a lovely Christmas card a few days earlier from Sr.Mary R.I.P. Heartfelt sympathy to her nieces, nephews, extended family and The Sisters of St. John of God, Sallyville House. Sr.Mary RIP was headmistress in " Christ The King" School when i worked there in the 1970's. I have very fond memories of those years. Her dedication, caring and compassionate attitude to staff and children i will always remember. On her return to Ireland my friend Brid and I were given such a warm welcome when we visited Sr.Mary in Rathdowney, Kilkenny and Wexford and we recalled many happy memories. Being part of the celebrations for her 100th birthday in June 23 was a wonderful experience. My good friend Brid and I had a most enjoyable afternoon with Sr.Mary and Sr. Muredach together with her caring staff when we visited her in September 25. I have many of her cards and letters. May Sr.Marys gentle soul rest in peace.

My family all attended Christ the King School where Sr Mary was a fantastic headteacher. She balanced the right level of firmness with compassion and willingly gave up her time for so many of the families both at school and within St Mellitus parish, where she helped create a real sense of community. She will be very fondly remembered.

She was held in high regard by the whole family during our treasured time at the school spanning 17 years and continued to be when my children grew up. Sr Mary created firm foundations for our family, leading the school with a strong catholic ethos and dedication.
I was still in contact with her and would keep her up to date with news from Tollington Park. She was a wonderful writer but always humble in any praise given to her. Thank you, Sr Mary for guiding my family and I in London all those years ago. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace.

My family and I always sat behind you and Sister Agatha for Sunday mass at St Mellitus church in London. You were always kind and warm to us especially to our mother Myra..how ironic while watching your funeral mass a lady with the same name was celebrating her anniversary with her partner.
You taught my niece and nephew's at Christ the King School along with their many friends. Your legacy lives on through them and they have turned out to be responsible adults. All thanks to you Sister Mary.
