Sincere condolences to the family of Sr. Moira and the Mercy sisters. As a teacher in Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní Coolock, Sr. Moira was always so welcoming to our staff and girls when we visited. She was ahead of her time, encouraging new ventures for Mercy College. Our girls benefitted greatly by having such a wonderful principal in secondary school. They were delighted to keep their standards high, knowing that was what Sr. Moira and her staff admired.
Thank you Sr. Moira for minding our Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní girls and guiding them to achieve their full potential in life.

Deepest condolences to our friend Imelda and the entire Lynam family at this difficult time. May Sister Moira rest in heavenly peace.
Wow! What a teacher, a principal and a person! In the early eighties she ran St Mary’s so that it was not a school in the ordinary way but like an academy for teenagers. It was a wonderful place. Into this a roughly cut diamond landed from Dublin. He fitted in perfectly because of Sr Moira. She picked her staff like a sports manager picks her team and gets them to play in her vision of that group.
I often met her at conferences for principals in latter years and she always had a nugget to share.
RIP Sr Moira.
Heartfelt condolences to the Lynam family and to the Mercy Community on the death of Sr. Moira. I was very sorry to hear the sad news of her passing.
It was my privilege to have served with her for many years, when she was Chairperson of the Board of Management for St. Joseph’s Rush. Her guidance was exceptional and invaluable. I will always remember and be grateful for her wisdom, kindness and compassion.

Sincerest sympathies to Sr.Moira's family and her Mercy Community. I was so fortunate to have been a pupil at St.Mary's College, Arklow when Sr.Moira was principal. She was such an incredibly inspiring role-model, encouraging us in all our endeavours and always nurturing our talents, for which I am so grateful. She kept in touch with us for many years, particularly with my Mum, Pauline and we are so saddened to hear the news of her passing. May she Rest in Peace.
My sincere condolences to the Lynam family and the Mercy Community on the loss of the wonderful Sr. Moira. She was the most fantastic Principal and teacher, always ahead of the game, kind and generous in spirit with a wicked sense of humour. She ran a tight ship in Coolock, strict but always fair. I have many fond memories of her during my time in Mercy College. She had a memory like an elephant; never ever forgot any of her students! Rest in eternal peace, dear Sr. Moira (fondly known in school as Auntie MoMo!)
So sorry for your loss Conn and family. May Sr. Moira rest in peace.
Sincerest sympathies to Sr Moira's family, community and friends on her sad passing.
I first knew her as an outstanding and caring principal in St Mary's College, Arklow. There, the general standards of achievement were high, and choirs, orchestras and music were among the best in the country.
More recently, Joan and I had the pleasure of meeting her, as a shrewd card player, at the Queen of Hearts Bridge Club.
May Sr Moira's gentle soul now be at peace.
Ceol na n-aingeal go gcloise sí agus gura móide teaghlach Dé a hanam dílis.

She had many stories to share with us and kept us all enthralled for hours. She was a beautiful gentle soul and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

She was an esteemed and much loved member of our bridge club in Clareville. She was always very willing to pass on her vast Bridge knowledge. She will be remembered by us all with huge fondness. It was a privilege to have known her.

Sincere sympathy to Sr Moria's family and the Mercy community. I had the privilege of being appointed to the parents committee by Sister Moira at St Mary’s Arklow. May she rest in peace.
Sr Moira, Sr Aurelia as she was to us in Mercy Beaumont was an inspiring teacher in Science and in life skills by empowering us to achieve our potential. She like all the Sisters who taught us were ahead of their time, helping form strong women who could do anything. Class of 1972
Deepest Sympathies to Sr Moira's family and all those who knew and loved her. I and my sister Marisa (Connaughton) remember Sr Moira with great fondness from our time as boarder pupils in St Mary's College Arklow in the late seventies. It was wonderful to meet her again after 40 years at a reunion for the class of '79 in 2019.
A wonderful person, fair and funny.
I will always remember her.
May her gentle soul rest in peace with the angels.

Dear Clare, Imelda, Ita and Conn,
Deepest sympathy to you, she was a wonderful lady. Tina and I spent a lovely morning with her last July when we were in Dublin. Although she was very frail, the old spark was still there and we caught up with all the family news. She kept me in touch with ‘Lynam news’.
So glad we will be able to see the funeral, Monday 10:00 pm here.
Love and prayers to you all.
Mim, Tina and Izaak, Tony, Hilary, Alba, Willa and Fairleigh.
Rest in peace sr Moira
Much loved in Botanic bridge club
Sadly missed 👼
Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Sister Moira, or Sister Aurelia as we knew her. A beautiful person, she taught us science at Our Lady of Mercy College, Beaumont, a subject I liked anyway, but she made it even more enjoyable with her intelligence, wit and good humour. She treated us all as if we were worthwhile and likeable, which brought out the best in us and was important at our age.
Sincerest sympathy to Moira’s family, close friends, and members of her Community. May she rest in peace
Sister Moira was my principal in Mercy for most of my Junior years up until her retirement, such a beautiful, kind and compassionate lady and she was fun too. May God now reward her for her service to him in his heavenly home. Praying for her family and for her Sisters in the Mercy Order who mourn her loss, may they be comforted in the days, weeks, months ahead by the tresured memmories that they have of such a wonderful person who will be dearly missed.
Sincere condolences to Sr. Moira’s family, the Mercy Community and teachers and her wide circle of friends. Sr. Moira to me was a trailblazer and never stopped short to achieve only the best for the students in Mercy College in Coolock. With her determination we had the then President of Ireland, Mary Robinson open our school gym which she tirelessly fundraised for. I think we were one of the first schools to also have language labs. She was supportive, kind and spotted talents unique to all 500 girls in the school. She had a great way about her, somehow managing the right balance of being firm while also compassionate and kind. Even in recent years she was as energetic and enthusiastic as I remember when first meeting her in 1989. Sr. Moira leaves a legacy that will be remembered for generations. May she RIP.
That such an incredible woman should leave us on International Women’s Day, seems somehow so appropriate. Sr Moira launched so many wonderful women on their way through life. It was a joy to see her again, after 40 years in 2019 and I know (whilst I didn’t realise it at the time) that she played such a big part in shaping me and making me believe anything was possible. Deepest condolences to all who loved her..she was an inspiration, a trail blazer and a beautiful soul….Rest in Peace

I was saddened to hear of Sr. Moira’s passing. Deepest sympathies to her family, friends and her Sisters of Mercy.

Remembering her from my time as a boarder pupil at St. Mary’s, Arklow in the late 70s. I was lucky enough to see her once again at an informal reunion in late 2019.

As headmistress, Moira mastered the right mix of toughness, fairness and caring. She made a difference for me and so positively influenced my early life choices. She will be fondly remembered. ❤️
May she RIP.

I am very saddened to hear about Sr Moira. She was a good friend of my late mother Ann Peppard. She was so kind and gentle; we loved her.
Condolence to her family and the Mercy community.
Deepest sympathy to the Lynam family, the sisters of Mercy and especially the sisters in the Mater on the passing of dear Sr. Moira. We were privileged to have known her. Her work, her influence, her indomitable spirit is immeasurable. She saw the good in everyone and was such great fun.We are deeply saddened by her passing and will remember her and speak of her always.
My sympathies to Sr. Moira’s family and profound gratitude for a having her in our lives at such a pivotal stage, to influence and enable our direction and choices as immature students. She was an influencer and a constructive disruptor long before the advent of either phrase, taking us to task if we fell short of our potential and securing the funding to provide less-favoured subjects like Honours Maths and Chemistry at Mercy College, Coolock. She led the charge forward for driven women.

Gentle and strong in fair proportions. Soft spoken, but never shy, conciliatory yet firm when she felt it was right to be firm, kind and remarkably giving of her time. My late Mum, Leila, was a PE teacher at Mercy and also held Sr. Moira in great esteem as her boss and especially as a caring listener. I will remember her with great fondness and appreciation.
What a wonderful person she was so compassionate to me in my final year in St Mary's and I never forgot her for her kindness... rip Sr Moira

May her soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
