Sr. Peggy CLEARY

Sincere condolences to St. Eugenes ( Peggy’s) family colleagues and friends on her passing. Memories of her regular visits to our home when she was in Graignamanagh. Sr Eugene was a good friend to both my late parents. May she Rest In Eternal Peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Sr. Peggy's passing recently. Eugene, as I knew her walked the yard with Sr. Cora (Stan) and myself when I taught in Graignamanagh as a very young teacher. They, and not college taught me everything I needed to know about teaching and children. I will never forget the school tours in particular. She was not only a colleague, my Principal at one time but also my friend which continued long after my departure from the school in Graig. We had many an outing with Foróige as well. Condolences to her companions in the Mercy order, to her family, friends and past pupils. May she rest in peace.

During her time in Askea, she gave so much of her free time teaching speech and drama, bringing us all through our RIAM exams. I loved her class then and it has been something that has stayed with me in my life. We were lucky to have to her.

So sad to hear of the passing of Sr Eugene. May she rest in peace . She gave me my first job in Graignamanagh Convent school many years ago . I will never forget her arriving at my door on my first day in Infants with a jar of lollipops and a bag of pencils . Both gratefully received by the pupils and I.She was a lovely ,kind ,gentle person who inspired us all to make the teaching and learning experience as enjoyable as possible .
