Dear Auntie Teresa - I have read with pride the many messages of condolence- you plainly did a lot of things right and touched many lives, mine and my sister Mary’s included. It’s well we remember the excitement of Auntie Teresa coming to visit us - the house would be cleaned and tidied, and us too, to within an inch of our lives. We first met Sr Teresa in 166 Westbourne Grove whilst on a visit to our Aunt Sr Joseph Patrick, her close friend, and then on other times visiting in Cork. A lovely gentle person. Sr Joseph P. was remembered at Sr Teresa's mass by Fr Joe, it was very kind and thoughtful. May Sr Teresa kind and gentle soul Rest In Peace

Dearest Aunty Teresa,

I just want to try and give a sense of what you meant to us.

Some of my earliest memories are of our family visits from Kettering to see you at the Convent in Westbourne Grove. There was always great excitement as we headed off to London and of course always the warmest welcome from you when we arrived. The days wasn't complete without you giving us a bag of sweets for the journey home!

You were such a constant in our lives growing up - and always an important part of any family celebration - weddings, births and parties. I remember the warmth and love of your relationship with mum down the years and I know how much she'll miss you; even though she knows you're in a better place. A place you've given your whole life selflessly to reach. I'll miss your quick wit, smile and your infectious laugh. Most of all I'll miss the absolute love you had for your whole, wide family. We were very lucky to have you. Go gently Teresa Philomena. x

Thank you Fr Joe for a beautiful funeral mass today and all who contributed to give Teresa such a lovely send off.

Sincere sympathy to the Fitzgibbon family, the Bon Secours sisters (especially Sister Monica in Dublin). I have very fond memories of Sister Theresa. My aunt Joanna worked for many happy years in the Bon Secours Nursing Home, Westbourne Grove, London. I worked there for a short time, also. I often visited St. Theresa in Cnoc Mhuire and in St. Theresa's ward in BSH. I always enjoyed her humour, kindness and gentleness. She always spoke very fondly of her family in East Cork. She has joined sisters Colmcille, Joseph Patrick, Charles, Rita Ann, Anna Patricia, Philomena, Fr. Tennant, Kathleen (the chef), my aunt Joanna, in heaven. Rest in Peace Sr. Theresa.
