A woman and religious sister of deep faith, you lived your long and fruitful life to the full in the footsteps of Nano Nagle. As an educator, teacher and principal you showed total commitment to and love for all in your care and especially for your 'special' pupils. You led by example with your easy way, charming smile and roguish glint in your eye! Those in your charge were treated with respect, gentleness and dignity. God blessed you with a brilliant mind and sharp intellect. There was always a song in your heart and music on your fingertips as you skipped lightly over the piano or organ, bringing joy and enjoyment to the weekly 'sing-songs' and also to the liturgy. How you loved everything Gaelic and had a real pride in your family roots in Kilbarry. We enjoyed many conversations as Gaeilge. Ta leaba tuillte agat i lathair De agus Muire na nGras. Codhladh samh agat i measc na naomh. Sincere and heartfelt sympathy to all who grieve for you and especially to Sr. Mary John, your dear companion, trusted friend , confidant and devoted and loving carer.
