My heartfelt condolences to Derek, Anne and Deirdre's extended family and to her Loreto sisters and friends. Deirdre has been a beloved friend to me and my family for 25 years. We shall miss her care, humour, kindness, spiritual direction, humility, wisdom and ability to find a way to connect and engage in meaningful conversations with us all. We count it a great privilege to have known this extraordinary Mary Ward woman.
Go well Deirdre.
Go well Deirdre.
What a loss Deirdre will be to all who knew her. I had the privilge of meeting her in 2014 on a visit to South Africa when she lived with my sister Gabrielle. She could not have been more weloming and kind to me. I was struck by her compassion, authenticity and strength. She was a huge support to my sister over many years since. The world has lost a very special soul.
We call to mind our most wonderful cousin Deirdre Harman who has always been part of our lives whether in Loreto Coleraine or Ireland or South Africa. We count it a blessing to have shared life's journey. Teresa in Loreto Balbriggan or Bernadette in Belfast - distance made no difference to Deirdre. She made a great impact on everyone she met. Her legacy will be measured by God. Thank you Deirdre for your love and care and interest. Deepest sympathy to Anne and Derek and all the family circle and friends.
Rest in peace Deirdre 🙏

Sr Deirdre was a tremendous blessing in my life. A mentor in the work of Ignatian Spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises, at one time my spiritual director and a dear friend. Always encouraging me to live with the deep freedom Mary Ward spoke of. A dynamic woman of courage and leadership. I will miss her very very much. Condolences to her family and the I.B.V.M. sisters.
To all of Deirdre's family, my deepest sympathy. Having lived with her in community in KwaGuqa township, South Africa, for 3 years, I feel I know something about your loss because Deirdre held each and all of you always at the centre of her thoughts and concern and always enjoyed talking about her memories of times with family. Personally, it has been a huge blessing in my life to have known Deirdre, to have experienced her warm and loyal friendship and to have been inspired in so many ways by the person she was. She will live on in many hearts and always be remembered with gratitude.
Rest in Peace Sister Deirdre always in our Prayers RIP.
Sincere condolences to all her family and Loreto Sisters, especially Emer. She was a beautiful lady, full of grace & wisdom. Deirdre, Eileen, Emer & Linda were the most wonderful guides and welcoming presence when I visited Pretoria in 2013. She influenced the lives of so many for the better, may she rest in peace.
To our wonderful and most caring aunt who despite being so far away was a glue in our family . The pieces of narrative coming through from South Africa , Ireland and further beyond are such a testimony to your amazing work Deirdre . Your love , care and commitment you gave to those many people who needed you in South Africa and beyond down the years . In your many pictures we just see your wonderful beautiful smile Deirdre . As you say to all the family in so many texts hugs galore. A wonderful life and journey completed.
Rest in peace Sr. Deirdre. Our lady of knock pray for her.
