To my Uncle Stan - who gave me my first cat when I was only 3 years old, who played my favourite sport - tennis - before he took up golf, who loved his pint of Guinness (the fuel of my college years), who was also involved with the Irish Red Cross, who had an amazing year-round tan that made me so jealous, and who always had a warm and welcoming smile and time for a chat whenever I saw him. You were a lovely, gentle presence throughout my life and I will really miss you. Rest in peace now. With love, Laura X
