I had the pleasure of being Stephen's lecturer when he studied for a Masters in Urban Regeneration and Development in DIT in 2015/16. He was an absolute gentleman, soft-spoken, and constantly interested in what makes cities tick. We had a class study trip to Berlin, and he was always learning and reflecting on what people had to say. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed.

Our love and respect for Stephen could not be greater. He was a wonderful friend who always kept in touch and was always positive in all situations. He loved his family and friends and knew the value of both. He connected with everyone but was never the centre, unassuming and always ready for a chat. Such a wonderful person who always knew the right thing to say, and made us better people for knowing him.
How unfair it is for Orla, Oliver, Rebecca, George, Laura and Mark to lose such a beautiful husband, father, son & brother, they all know the true specialness of Stephen.
We never got to travel together again but wish you safe travels hereafter our friend, we will miss you big time.
