Dear Christina and family, I was very sorry to hear of Stephen's untimely passing. I have many happy memories of time spent with Stephen in our house over the years, at parties and various other events where he mingled freely with all, young and old. Once we had a radiator leak, and Stephen was up at the double to save the day. A quiet man, gentle of spirit and will be greatly missed for his patience and kindness to our boys when they were small.

As a granddaughter of Stephen Carass, I'm grateful to have so many positive memories of my grandfather. He was so kind and giving. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of my grandpa is this story he told me. Which was about how he was at this table with people from around the world, and he realized we're all the same. Some of the details escape me. And he’s no longer around for me to ask for clarification. So, I don’t remember what this event was. But he looked around and realized we all want the same things out of life. To be loved, to be cared for, and to care for our children. And that’s how I want him to be remembered, caring for others.
