Deepest sympathies to all the Corcoran family on Stephen’s passing. I’ve such fond memories of meeting him walking the roads, or sitting by the open fire chatting. The glint in his eyes will truly be missed in the village. RIP Stephen

Stephen was a staple in our neighbourhood, whom we frequently met whilst walking the roads around home. We always had good chats about so many topics. He had a fiercely independent and self sufficient spirit with the most loveliest accent.
One of my lifelong favourite smells is the smoke of Corcoran’s open fire through the Carnaseer trees. With Stephens’ passing many memories, and those of childhood are in sharper focus.

Rest in peace Stephen. You will be dearly missed.

Very sad to hear about Stephen’s passing. It was always such a treat to visit him in Drumbane. He had a great welcome for us, his cousins, and would regale us with all his news and stories of the parish.

It also sad to think of Stephen as the last to leave Drumbane and the mill. I have very fond memories of visiting Uncle John and Aunt Nora in a house that was full of live and laughter. It was also the birth place of our wonderful granny, Lucy Corcoran, and holds a special place in our hearts and family history. May Stephen rest in peace now and May God bless and take care of his family.

Sincere condolences to all the Corcoran connections on the passing of Stephen. What a lovely quiet unassuming and intelligent man. A beautiful simple method of living a life his own way. Always enjoyed his company whether in Gurteen bog or in Mary Howleys after mass on a Saturday night. I called a few weeks ago and had a great chat about everything and anything. We were looking at the big redwood at the back of the house that got damaged a bit in the storm and out of the blue he gave me the Latin name for the tree, I was stunned, still can’t remember it myself. He will be remembered fondly by all that knew him and you cannot ask for more in life. Sleep well Stephen.

Always enjoyed a visit to drumbane, to see the mill, chat about times in England, listening to the soft derby lilt of your accent.
