Stephen,

For a quiet man, you were so popular.
You never had a bad word to say about anyone and no one ever had a bad word to say about you.
It was a great pleasure to have you as a brother, I was so proud of you and I will deeply miss you so much.
Without you I would probably never have been introduced to cycling and the great outdoors. Were it not for you, I would have no memories of the two of us trekking up and down the Dublin and Wicklow hills.
There wasn't a youth hostel in Wicklow that we didn't visit.
And then there was your love of Traditional Music which you encouraged me to listen to and for which I also got to admire.
Hope you enjoyed the tin whistle and mouth organ at your mass, I'm sure you did.

Rest in peace Stephen, you will be greatly missed by your work colleagues, many friends, all of your family and especially me.

Your loving brother,

Brian.
Deepest sympathies to all of Stephen's family & friends. It was such shocking news to hear. Stephen was a gent; a lovely man to have a chat with in Front Square as he went about his work which he took great pride in. He often collected the little stickers off the Mc Donald's coffee cups and quietly presented me with a full card so I could get myself a free coffee! RIP Stephen, you will be missed.
Stephen will be missed. There was always a friendly hello on the way across the square. His love of College was wellknown, and evident in his thorough way he did his duties! I will miss the little chats.
It was with shock and sadness when I heard of Stephen's death. Every second week when on early shift I would see Stephen around front square, always working hard. I was a few years in Trinity before I got to know him and I'm glad I did. Many a long chat I had with Stephen about cycling, football, rugby and he had a keen knowledge of current affairs. If he read an article he thought I'd be interested in he would drop it in to the GMB for me. He was an absolute gent and he will be a big loss to the Ground Staff. We had planned to cycle to Enniskerry sometime. A real pity it will not happen.
My condolences to his sisters, brother and extended family.
It was a terrible shock to hear this sad news this morning - I am very sorry for your loss. I can't begin to tell you how much Stephen was a timeless part of the College for me. We never actually exchanged names but almost every day exchanged at least one nod and hello and a smile; and I always admired the cheerful, practical way in which the work was done, working away around the people standing about outside with never a flicker of impatience, just doing a really good job efficiently and effectively whatever the weather. And, on sunny days, you'd see Stephen having a brief breather, leaning on the broom and looking around and just enjoying being outside amid the trees and the flowers and the sun - and you'd find yourself pausing too just for a moment to see what he was seeing, and think how lucky we were to have those things. He was such a big part of that. I will miss Stephen a great deal. Thank you for everything.
I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to the family of Stephen Geoghegan, very sad to hear of his sudden passing. His dedicated work at Trinity over two decades did not go unnoticed; he contributed greatly and without wish for praise, to the sense of pride that his fellow colleagues, the student body, and the visitors experience daily walking through Front Arch where we were always met with the most wonderful sight of the well-kept, noticeably cared-for grounds. On a personal level, he chose to always sit on the bench dedicated to my father on New Square to enjoy his hard-earned breaks- his 'occupation' of the bench always brought me comfort, I am glad I told him that he made this personal difference too. RIP Stephen.
Although I did not know Mr Geoghegan personally, his dedication to keeping the College looking its best did not go unnoticed and I know his presence on campus will be sadly missed. I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
I WAS SHOCK THIS MORNING TO HEAR ABOUT STEPHEN.A DAY NEVER WENT BY BUT WE SPOKE,ABOUT THE WEATHER AND OTHER THINGS.I WILL MISS YOU STEPHEN AND OUR CHATS.YOU WERE ONE OF LIFE GENTLEMEN,I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.JUNE XXXXX
